Look it’s a schooner!

It’s almost Christmas, and I’m pretty excited. Donna doesn’t seem to think so, but I am. It’s probably my favorite time of the year. I turn 24 on Friday the 24th. WHAT?! Do you know how long I’ve been waiting to be 24?

…24 years.

Ha, but anyway, yeah to the point. I am going to finally be uploading some illustrations from my sketchbook! Courtesy of Will Bryant (who you should check out by the way) I will be getting my hands on a really good digital tracing program fairly soon. The only thing lacking now is the convenience of a home scanner. However, it takes 2 seconds at school so I will be doing that in the coming week or so. I will have uploaded some previews of my typography expressive zine spread and cover by the time I get to the school scanner so there will be new content up on the site fairly shortly. Crazy, I know, I’m uploading content quicker than every 6 months to a year now, how will anyone ever catch up with this madness. I will never know.

I’m sure someone, possibly the guy in the striped shirt in the back is wondering what I was talking about with that whole “Zine” business. WELL, let me inform you. In the coming months (it’s already completed), I think it will hit the shelf by then, my Typography class will be releasing “Yo Fool, Where’d you get them Sneakers?” It will be available at Domy Books here in Austin, probably for a couple dollars. All the proceeds go to Helping Hand Home for Children which is awesome. There is some interesting work in there and I had the honor of being chosen for the front cover, I also have a spread somewhere in there. Not to mention I coined the phrase “Yo Fool, Where’d you get them Sneakers?” which I’m sure is a shocker to everyone. I highly encourage anyone and everyone to go and check it out, supplies will be limited so act fast and help some kids in the process.

The quarter is almost over and I’m pretty stoked. I definitely need a break though, especially after these last couple weeks. I don’t really have the words at the moment to describe the situation. I still have a lot on my plate as there are some remaining photographs to be edited and an album cover in the works which previews and further information on that will be posted when the time comes.

OH! Donna and I are printing a Christmas card. Which will be up on here either A. when it gets printed or B. after Christmas? Yeah, I don’t know the details, but you’ll see it when you see it. That is if I can draw the holly to my liking before I set the project ablaze. (only kidding)

If you would like a Christmas card, and if you’re reading this you should definitely be getting one for taking the time to read this and look at my site, email me at mtdsign@gmail.com with your name and shipping information so I can send it out asap. I’ll even scratch my name or initials on it or write something nice for you to show my appreciation for you taking the time to look at my slice of the internet and to say thank you.
